The qualification and learning outcomes are based on the recommendations of:

  • Resuscitation Council (UK).
  • Assessment Principles for Regulated First Aid Qualifications.

This course is:

  • For people who deal with first aid at work enabling them to refresh skills and knowledge as workplace first aiders under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
  • Based on the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) training standard for delivery of First Aid at Work (FAW) courses for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981
  • Learners should be able to demonstrate the practical administration of safe, prompt, effective first aid in emergency situations with an understanding of the role of first aider.

Objective

The objective of the qualification is to benefit Learners by enabling them to refresh the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with a range of first aid situations. It is designed to help maintain skills and keep up to date with any changes to first aid procedures.

Purpose

The purpose of this qualification is to refresh the first aid skills and knowledge of qualified first aiders and emergency first aiders in the workplace. It can also be attended by anybody who wants a basis first aid understanding.

First Aid at Work (Annual Refresher) qualification is specifically designed to allow qualified first aiders to update their first aid skills yearly, until requalification training is required.

Successful candidates will leave with a renewed confidence, having had the opportunity to practice essential first aid procedures, as well as learn the latest techniques needed to deal with an emergency situation. With all subjects covered in just 3 hours, this course is an ideal way to satisfy HSE requirements whilst minimising disruption to your organisation’s day to day activities!
